City Budget Calls for 10 Additional Police Officers in Downtown Greenville
Greenville Police Dept. asks for ten more police officers to patrol the Central Business District in downtown area.
Security in downtown areas is ramping up across the country and Greenville is no exception.
As downtown continues to see unprecedented growth, concerns for public safety arise as well. To match that growth, a $1.2 million request from the city’s general fund budget has been made, which would add ten new officers to the Greenville City Police Department force.
The officers would patrol downtown’s central business district area, which runs from Flour Field to Noma Square.
